Decoupage Shell Ring Dish – Picasso Art, Coastal Housewarming Gift

A beautifully crafted decoupage clam shell featuring a detail of Pablo Picasso's La Coquille Saint-Jacques. Picasso was the most dominant and influential artist of the 1st half of the 20th century. Associated most of all with pioneering Cubism, he also invented collage and made major contribution to Surrealism. 

Add the handmade wooden stand for easier display if this is not intended to be a ring / trinket dish.  We handcraft each stand from bass wood and proportion it exactly to fit your particular shell.

These decoupaged shells are hand-crafted with a fine level of detail. Images are carefully set on a base of white or pearl paint and sealed with multiple layers of lacquer to give a refined porcelain feel and look to them. A delicate edging of liquid gold leaf gives the finishing touch. Shell backs are left in their beautiful and natural state.  These shells are thoroughly cleaned with soap and water - no harsh chemicals used.
