The Conus marmoreus, commonly known as the Marbled Cone, is a striking marine gastropod mollusk belonging to the family Conidae. It is renowned for its distinctive shell pattern.

Due to its striking appearance and unique patterning, the Marbled Cone is highly sought after by shell collectors. When mounted on a glossy black stand with a brass plaque, it serves as an elegant centerpiece, showcasing the intricate beauty of marine life.

Shell Description
Adult shells typically range from 1.2"- 5.9" (3.0 - 150 cm) in length. The shell features a flattish, nodular spire and an outer lip that flares towards the posterior. Its robust, conical shape is both functional and aesthetically appealing.
The Marbled Cone is renowned for its distinctive, reticulated color pattern. This pattern can range from black with white dots to orange with white reticulations, arranged to expose the white in rounded triangular large spots. The aperture is typically white or light pink, adding to its visual appeal.

Conus marmoreus is widely distributed across the Indo-Pacific region and the western Pacific Ocean as well as off the coasts of Australia.
