A stunning tropical shell displayed on a handmade glossy black stand with a brass plaque engraved with the Latin name for the species that called this shell its home.

The Lambis Lambis, commonly known as the Common Spider Conch, is a large and visually striking marine gastropod mollusk belonging to the family Strombidae. It is renowned for its ornate shell.

The ornate shell of Lambis lambis, with its distinctive spines and vibrant coloration, makes it a highly sought-after specimen among shell collectors and marine enthusiasts. When mounted on a glossy black stand with a brass plaque, it serves as an elegant centerpiece, showcasing the intricate beauty of marine life.

Shell Description
Adult shells can typically measure between 7.0" (18 cm) to 12.0" (30 cm) in length. The shell exhibits a robust, biconic form with a high spire and a flared outer lip adorned with six to nine finger-like projections or "spines," which contribute to its "spider-like" appearance.
The exterior of the shell ranges from creamy white to light brown, often featuring zigzag or blotchy brown patterns. The aperture (shell opening) is typically pearly pink with orange or yellow tints, adding to its aesthetic appeal.
Lambis lambis is widespread throughout the Indo-West Pacific, including regions such as East Africa, the Red Sea, India, Southeast Asia, northern Australia, and various Pacific islands.
