A stunning tropical shell displayed on a handmade glossy black stand with a brass plaque engraved with the Latin name for the species that called this shell its home.

The Chicoreus Ramosus, commonly known as the Ramose Murex or Branched Murex, is a large and visually striking marine gastropod mollusk belonging to the family Muricidae. It is renowned for its large and ornate shell.

Due to its impressive size and ornate shell structure, Chicoreus Ramosus is highly sought after by shell collectors and is commonly used in decorative displays. When mounted on a glossy black stand with a brass plaque, it serves as an elegant centerpiece, showcasing the intricate beauty of marine life.

Shell Description
The shell of Chicoreus Ramosus is notably large and robust, reaching lengths of up to 13" (33 cm). It features a globose outline with a short spire, an inflated body whorl, and a moderately long siphonal canal. The shell is adorned with three prominent, spinose axial varices per whorl, each bearing leaf-like, recurved hollow digitations, giving it a branched appearance.
Externally, the shell ranges from white to light brown, often exhibiting brown spiral striations. The aperture is white, typically tinged with pink towards the inner edge, and the columella is smooth, displaying hues from salmon to orange.
Chicoreus ramosus is found extensively throughout the Indo-West Pacific, from East and South Africa to eastern Polynesia, southern Japan, New Caledonia, and Queensland, Australia.
